Tekton combination hammer replacement nylon inserts are made of nylon with 73 Shore D hardness. They are wear-resistant, non-marking, oil and grease resistant, and won't chip, even in sub-zero temperatures. Each nylon insert is press-fit into the steel head with ridges that hold it securely in place. It does not unscrew. To remove a worn insert, clamp the hammer in a vise so the jaws grip the sides of the insert firmly. Rock the hammer gently back and forth to unset the insert until it pops free. To install the new insert, place the insert flat on a sturdy surface, then position the hammer over it with the open side facing down. Tap the opposite face of the hammer (the side with the steel face) until the new insert seats fully into place.
